what exact updates did you bring into ccs?
You may or may not be getting any, but do you get any error logs (hs_err_.log ) or dump files (.dmp) generated?

Do you see this with all workspaces? One thing to try with startup issues a lot of the time is to rerun the microsoft visual c redistributable package (vcredist*.exe in the ccs folders).
