Forum Post: CCS 54 unable to connect to device, CCS 3.3 can, need help

I'm migrating from 28035 to 28069. Also migrating from CCS 3.3 to CCS 5.4

We have an existing hardware design in which we swapped processors to the 28069. I am unable to connect to the device in CCS 5.4

I checked that CCC 3.3 is able to connect to the 28069 (it thinks it's talking to a 28035, but it can do it).

The device manager says we have a USB Serial Converter A & B (it does not say XDS100 like when connected to a 28069 control card).

What do I need to do to get the CCS 5.4 to communicate with this device? I must be missing somehting (bear in mind that the CCS 3.3 is able to communicate with this hardware).
