Finally got CCS 4.0 installed. I am now successfully processing samples and pushing them out the DAC. Here's how it went down:
1. Could not install with the software provided in dev kit cd-rom. Either permissions issue or damaged cd-rom, which looked like it had been smudged with glue???
2. So, deleted everything I had attempted to install.
3. Recreated cd-rom contents on my hard drive by downloading software as needed from ti website.
4. Now, I could successfully install ccs 4.0 from the hdd. btw: I will not not do ccs 5 until necessary, since I have everything working.
5. However, I could not get my emulator to connect, or download code to the processor. :(
6. So, I copy and pasted the error code and found another user on the ti website with a similar problem.
7. This user experiences led me to reflash the EEPROM for the usb controller or emulator (can't remember which).
8. After that, ccs could detect my device and I was up and running.
Sorry, can't remember everything, but I was at my mother-in-law's when I was figuring all this out and don't have access to the google history because it all got saved under her account....
