Forum Post: RE: Connection host - xds560 problem

Mark,

I think I get what is the issue you are having now. In order to connect to any piece of hardware using a Virtual Machine, you need two device drivers: one installed in the host operating system (Windows 7 in your case) and another installed in the guest operating system (Windows XP).

In the specific case of the XDS560R, it was discontinued by Spectrum Digital a few years ago and the device drivers will have to be installed in two different ways:

- Windows XP device drivers for CCSv3.3 are available from Spectrum Digital's support page. Since you already have CCS installed in the Windows XP, that is straightforward.

- For Windows 7 you will have to install either CCSv3.3 (plus the device drivers above) or CCSv4.1.2 (the latest version that includes XDS560R device drivers). The safer path is to install CCSv4.1.2, as the installation of CCSv3.3 on Windows 7 is somewhat complicated.

I hope I got the problem you are having, but feel free to get back with any missing details, ok?

Regards,

Rafael
