Forum Post: Error connecting to Experimenter's Kit

Hello,

I am quite new to the TI DSPs and I've been trying to play with the TMS320C2000 Experimenter Kit and an F28335 controlCARD. I am using CCS v4.1.0.02005. The Target Configuration is set to TI XDS100v1 USB emulator and the board or device is set to TMS320F28335. Now, I have an example project (Example_2833xCpuTimer) open and the hardware connected via USB and set to USB mode (switch on board flipped to 'usb'), however, when I click on 'debug', I get the following error message:

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000240/-116
Fatal Error during: Initialization, OCS,

When  I click re-try, I get the following:

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000200/-1047
Fatal Error during: OCS,
PTI_ERR_EMU_CLOSE Error Occured at 0x00000000

Any suggestions as to how to get the hardware recognized?
