The bug still takes place! Install and uninstall - that's the very basic functionality of a product installer, and now you have half of functionality broken and everyone is suffering. Its severity is HIGH, it should have been fixed since February. Where is your QA?
It must be trivial to fix - just search for the error string in the installer script.
Someone has added a check that only admin user would be able to uninstall, the check doesn't work as it should.
I would gladly help you in fixing this - but I trust you have enough resources.
